Klinsmann: Does not want job in Germany
Former Germany and Bayern Munich manager Jurgen Klinsmann has remained tight-lipped over rumours that he is to replace Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez next summer.
The 108-time Germany international has long been linked with the Reds and the club's co-owner Tom Hicks has admitted holding talks in the past.
Benitez signed a new long-term contract before the start of the current season, but speculation has suggested that the ex-Valencia boss' almost five-year tenure could soon end.
Liverpool have been dumped out of the UEFA Champions League group stages and are off the pace in the Premier League, renewing speculation that Klinsmann could replace Benitez.
But the German said in Bild: "There are always rumours."
Klinsmann does not want to return to club management in Germany and has indicated that he could make a move abroad before next season.
He said: "For us it is relatively clear. We will not embark on another adventure in the Bundesliga.
"After the World Cup, I will possibly be somewhere else."

I believe with the comments that Klinsman aint good enough to manage Liverpool (you need a big manager, yes i am a Everton fan), but talk of Rafa havin all the bad luck including injuries is a joke aswel. Yes Torres has been injured alot the season will give you that one but he has also scored like 13 goals so he has helped alot. Gerrard and Johnson have missed a few games thats it and Aquilani well you cant count him as he has neva played and its Rafas fault for buying an badly injured player. For proper injury lists look at Arsenal last year and Evertons this year. Liverpool need someone new as Rafa just aint good enough he has 5 years and spent alot of money on mediocre players, its time to stop livin on the Champions League 2005 and get a good premiership manager in otherwise its downhill from here.

Liverpool fan citing injuries again!! Every team has to deal with them but Liverpool fans bleat about it. We have had Modric out since August, Defoe out for 3 games, King plays 1 in three. Do you see Harry moaning, no. Face it your just a two man team. And as for carragher being groomed for manager as Chris Brown (Liverpool fan) says...well you must be having a laugh.......

As a response to the Rotherham United saying that without Gerrard and Torres Liverpool aren't a very good team without them: they are because look at N'gog, Benayoun, Reina, Carragher, Riera, Mascherano!!! Rotherham United are hardly a wonderful team are they mate!!!

This is silly, even if benitez did go in the summer, we certainly dont need a manager, with no top club level experience, this is a joke

Utter rubbish. Benitez is the only man for us at the moment. Not many managers would come, especially Mourinho, with the transfer budgets, or lack of, benitez is working with. Couldn't imagine O'Neill wanting to leave Villa to move to LFC where fans demand success whilst the manager has to sell to buy. A european cup win, another final, an FA Cup, best points haul in the premier league last season? In Rafa we trust.

Klinsman v benitez, why all the speculation, At the end of the day the club is as good as its investment and backing, clearly the americas havent grasped the concept of soccer in england (football), Benitiez has done a lot for liverpool and there are key players missing, however put the money up, get rid of dead wood (veronin, lucas, aurellio etc) play babel and invest in some more depth, leave Jurgen to manage already successful squads

Benitez needs to go! How people can call themselves fans and still have faith in the man is beyond me. He has had the funds but doesn't have the ability to buy top quality players (bar a few) and cannot get the best out of the players that he has. Marinho should be the replacement as he has the experience and would be able to come in without funds and get the current players to play as a team. Klinsman does not have the experience and will not get the backing from the fans.

You must be joking me!!!! Klinsmann is a nobody and we need the ''special one''.I must admit that i'm not a fan of Rafa and would be happy to see him go.Rafa is pig headed and only does what he wants and not what's good for the team. But Rafa is not our main problem...it's those stupid Americans.

As being from Germany, I can confirm that Klinsmann is simply not a good manager. Granted, he was successful with our national team (3rd place in 2006 WC) but he is awful in club management. He single-handedly ruined the Bayern Munich team with his complete mismanagement of players. He doesn't seem to have any tactical knowledge (at least not defensively) and always plays his favorite players, regardless of quality (Kahn should clearly have played at the 2006 WC in place of Lehmann; also Lell, Borowski and Podolski were not good enough for Bayern's first XI but he consistently kept playing them). Any club that hires Klinsmann will regret it a year later and I hope it won't be Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino of Espanyol is a great manager in the making, great experience as a player and can work on a tight budget. Gian Piero Gasperini would also be a good choice as his work at Genoa has been great and he enjoys playing 3-4-3 attacking football. But if looking for a British manager Dave Jones would not be a bad choice neither would Roy Hodgson if he could be tempted away from Fulham.

There's one reason why Liverpool may end up with a manager like Jurgen Klinsmann, he will be cheap. If they have to pay off Benitez then that's all they can afford. Mind you, I highly doubt Benitez will be leaving anytime soon.

This Klinsman story is just another example of the media witch hunt that Rafa has had to endure. There is an agenda in the British media particularly in the gutter tabloid press who are constantly contradicting themselves in reports and will criticise Rafa whatever he does. I'd like to see Rafa stay, he has just this season taken more control of the academy and reserve set up and this needs 3-5 years to develop. It is the lack of quality coming through the ranks that has been a major issue for Liverpool and forced Rafa's hand into some very mediocre signings, Vorinin being a prime example. I am amazed when I hear people calling for Rafa to be sacked it seems people are oblivious to the fact that stability and consistency are key to the success of a football club. Giving Rafa until the 2011/12 season before considering our options will allow time for Liverpool to groom Carra for the job he is clearly destined for.

Karl Williams (Liverpool fan) says...
Leave Rafa alone. Klinsmann has no pedigree to take over Liverpool. In truth, Liverpool have suffered huge injuries this season. Any team in the world would miss Torres, Gerrard, Agger, Johnson and Aquillani. Lets get things in perspective, we are 3 points off Spurs. With 6 months to go! And the Champs Lge is not the be all an end all, its a bonus.

Matt Gascoigne (Rotherham United fan) says...
The only reason Rafa is still there is because the board cant afford to pay the 20 million to sack him. Yes Klinsmann isnt a very good manager but lets be truthful, without Torres and Gerrard, Liverpool are not a very good side so it would be a good match. And for the person who said get Mourinho in, get real to be honest. Why would he leave Inter Milan who are actually in their title picture to manage the 3rd/4th team in the big 4?

Paul Houghton (Liverpool fan) says...
For me I think Kenny Daglish would be a ideal candidate to take over from Rafa as he knows exactly what is wanted by the fans as being one himself, also I think he would be a big influance to the youngsters trying to break through into the first team. I think Rafa has took us as far as he can now, he's no doubt been a great manager and brought us great sucess apart from that one trophy we all want to see again...

As a Liverpool supporter Klinsmann is one of the last managers that I would want at the club, what success has he had to date? A proven manager is required for any team at the top end of the Premiership, ideally I would like to see Martin O'Neil in charge or even Mourinho, someone with experience of how to win trophies at home and in europe.

Rafa Benitez will not be leaving Liverpool. He has just signed a new 5 year contract and is very much committed to the club. Jurgen Klinsmann is nowhere near as good a manager as Benitez and I really can't understand where this report comes from.
