Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina would happily swap clean sheets for victories as he and his team-mates attempt to resurrect their woeful season.

The Reds, who are out of the UEFA Champions League, were held to a dull stalemate at Blackburn on Saturday and sit 12 points off Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Reina is pleased with another shutout after a previous 2-0 victory at Merseyside rivals Everton, but the Spaniard realises maximum points is the priority.

"It's another clean sheet and you saw that we are reacting and trying to do things well," he said in the Daily Express.

"To defend against a team like this (Blackburn) is not easy, so to keep a clean sheet and have chances and push them in the second half was really good."

He added: "I would swap a clean sheet for a victory all day long. Apparently we are defending better now than we were and that is important.

"But we have to win because that is what really matters."
