Liverpool have informed the Premier League they believe Sunday's Anfield fixture with Tottenham should be postponed.

While the pitch at Anfield is believed to be playable, it is thought the surrounding area of the stadium is unsafe for fans making their way into the ground.

The game could prove to be the top flight's biggest casualty of the weekend, with other fixtures expected to go ahead amid adverse weather conditions around the country.

Three Premier League games this weekend have already been postponed to date, with the midweek Carling Cup semi-finals the first major casualties of the January weather.

Fulham's home clash with Portsmouth, Stoke's visit to Burnley and Sunderland's game with Bolton are the confirmed postponements.
