Poulsen: Anfield arrival
Liverpool have completed the signing of Christian Poulsen from Juventus for an initial £4.5million.
The Reds have been tracking the Denmark international for some time, having identified a holding midfielder as a top priority this summer.
With Javier Mascherano seemingly destined to depart Anfield in the near future, with Inter Milan keen on the Argentina captain, it was essential Roy Hodgson drafted in a replacement.
Poulsen is that man, and the 30-year-old has now made a move to Merseyside.
The former Schalke and Sevilla man jetted into England on Wednesday to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches to the switch.
Juventus and Liverpool have now confirmed that a deal has been struck, with the transfer fee set at €5.475million (£4.5m).
Payment from Liverpool is due in two instalments, with €2.725million (£2.2m) to be paid up front and €2.75million (£2.3m) on 1st July 2011.
The agreement could end up costing the Reds a further €1.2million (£987,000), dependent on Poulsen meeting certain criteria during his time with the club.
The deal sees Poulsen reunited with Hodgson 10 years after he gave him his big break while on the books of FC Copenhagen.

Poulsen is a quality signing, Roy has been superb in trasnfer market so far, keep it up... And by that, NO COLE FOR £20m. Ridiculous price for him. Should sign Dzeko, £20m plus Ryan Babel, Wolfsburg need the cash and they looking at wingers...there''s their answer. If not Dzeko, Asamoah Gyan, quality in the world cup.

A good signing, but if we can sell mascherano for abt 25mil and hopefully we can buy another midfielder and a striker is needed to keep the pressure of torres. The extra midfielder will help keep the squad healthy and give us that depth we need. Hopefully defour or banega can come in or even scott parker would be a briliiant buy, however his is age is a problem. Get Ashley Young in and Babel out.

Another great signing for liverpool, sunderland are going to sign messi for 10 million think that will be a great offer and we are gonna sign ronaldo ,kaka i hope real madrid accept the offer. 15.5 million for both of the players maybe less. i think we are gonna still to bad even if we sign buffon and the world 11 its because of our manager sir alex fergurson he made us win 5 cups in a season hes been working for us a day

Great signing, exactly what we need, he''s stable reliable a bit more of a playmaker than mascha (reminds me a bit of Hamman). I would definitely like to see a quality striker to fill in for torres who usually only plays half a season due to injury. we should also snap up sean wright philips from city and sell mascha to barca rather than inter so we can get alex hleb in a part exhange deal

Another great signing. Poulsen obviously is happy to play under the manager that gave him his break. Shame on those fans who would rather we got Hiddink in. Liverpool are 14-1 with William Hill to win the prem outright and finally we have a manager that talks to his players. Get on it.

Poulson is a great signing, just the sort of player that we need! £5mil for a player of his ability, regardless of age is great bit of business by Hodgson and the team, bearing in mind the state of the current market. don''t be fooled, if CP was a target for the mugs at Chelski or Al Shebab Ul Manc, then he would have gone for at least £10mil. even after the inital 3 year deal is over, then we have got the best out of a quality player in his prime!

Great signing, i do wish we could splash 20m of Luis Fabiano and that would surely result in Liverpool getting very close to the title!

He is as good as Agger in the Danish national team. Intelligent and extremely professional. He looks like a good-guy, but people get hurt when they come to close to him. I am a bit worried about his pace and whether he would get too many yellow cards on that account. Because he refuses to let someone get past him.

Roy Hogson is focusing on buying British Players, So i recommend to buy Shun Wright Phillips or Ashley Young and Please Buy Bobby Zamora Not Chalton cole. Do Not by Warnock for left back, Buy someone a lot quicker, need speed and skill on the left back

A good signing and still little money spent! With Masc going we should have enough for a quality striker to partner Torres! And to those saying its a lot of money for a 30 year old, Gerrard is 30 and still worth at least £20mil!!

Yep! Another good signing for Roy, should be looking at rescuing Bellamy from City now though. If we want a bit of pace up front with Torres then Bellamy is the man for the job!
