Sky Sports News sources understand Liverpool have renewed their interest in bringing Blackpool's Charlie Adam to Anfield.

All eyes are on the Reds during transfer deadline day with Fernando Torres' potential £50million move to Chelsea sparking frenzied speculation on new arrivals.

Liverpool confirmed they have had a bid, reported at £35million, accepted for Newcastle United's Andy Carroll and it now appears that the Merseysiders are ready to use the rest of the Torres cash to bring Adam to the club.

Adam, who submitted a transfer request earlier in the January transfer window when Liverpool tabled a £4million bid for his services, was told he would not be allowed to leave the Premier League new-boys until the summer.

Dream move

But the Scotland international could secure his dream move to Anfield after the Reds reportedly reopened negotiations with the Seasiders over their highly-rated midfielder.

Sky Sports sources have revealed Liverpool have sent a car to Blackpool's training ground but it remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old will head to Melwood in time for Monday's 11pm deadline.

Rangers will receive a cut if a deal is thrashed out as it is understood the SPL champions stand to earn 10 per cent of an Adam sale.

Adam, who was also targeted by Aston Villa and Birmingham City, had been sensationally linked with a move to Manchester United in the build-up to transfer deadline day but it looks like their North West rivals have stolen a march to land the midfielder's services.
