David Miles has declared his club 'quietly pleased' after Arsenal were pitted against Sparta Prague in the final qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners must defeat the Czech Republic side over two legs to book a place in the group stage of the competition.

Club secretary Miles insists Sparta Prague will not be underestimated, but is confident of progressing.

"I think we'll be pleased with that," Miles told Sky Sports News.

"We've played Sparta Prague four times in the last six years, in the group stage of the Champions League.

"It could have been (worse) logistically and probably playing wise, so we're going to be quietly pleased with that.

"We won't take anything for granted and Arsene, with his network of scouts, will be doing his homework."

Miles admits it would be disastrous for Arsenal to bow out at this point of the Champions League.

"It is paramount that we get through to the group stage, where we have three home and away games," he explained.

"The fans love to see European football at Emirates and hopefully we'll deliver yet again."
