Arsenal new-boy Eduardo Da Silva is wary of the difficulties he faces in adjusting to the English game, but is looking forward to the challenge ahead.

The 24-year-old is in line to make his Gunners debut against Fulham on Sunday, but is warning the club's supporters that it will take him time to reach the form that earned him a switch to the Premier League.

"To be honest, it is not easy," he told the club's official website.

"Even for the best player in the world, it is not easy in England. Take Andrei Shevchenko at Chelsea as an example.

Goals will come

"For me he is one of the best strikers in the world but when he was first in England he found the adaptation hard. Now it is better and better for him.

"I know I have to adapt yet but I just want to work and work."

With the loss of Thierry Henry to Barcelona, Da Silva will be handed the task of firing Arsenal towards the top of the table, but he says it is a challenge he is looking forward to taking on.

"If I give 100% then the goals will come," he continued.

"I just want to satisfy the club and the fans. Everything is new but I am happy."
