Toure: Urging caution

Arsenal defender Kolo Toure has warned his team-mates against complacency after a tremendous start to the Premier League season.

During the 2006/07 campaign The Gunners were guilty of performing admirably against the top four sides, while they often struggled against the smaller teams.

However, with almost a quarter of the season already gone Arsene Wenger's men have demonstrated the qualities they so often lacked last time round.

Toure, though, has advised his team-mates to take one game at a time and not worry about the reputation of their opponents.

Strange

Arsenal's forthcoming league matches are against Liverpool away, and then Manchester United at home, and the 26-year-old has called for focus.

"Last season was a really strange season because we did really well against the big teams but we slipped up against the teams that people expect us to beat," Toure told the club's official website.

"That is why this season we have to concentrate on the games in front of us - never mind if it's Liverpool or Manchester United.

"We have to keep the same focus for each game and also hope that we get a bit lucky in games and keep winning.

Cautious

"The season is really long and these next two games are really important but only because we can get six points - but that's it.

"You always like to beat the teams in the top four but last season we did that and it was for nothing really because we didn't win anything.

"It's no good beating Manchester United and slipping up in other games.

"But I feel we are more mature now, we know what to expect in those games, have shown we can play against some really top players but we just need to be a bit more cautious and keep winning every game."
