Van Persie: Enjoying his football
Arsenal's Robin van Persie has heaped praise on Arsene Wenger's current crop of players, labelling them the best he has ever played with.
The Holland international, who is sidelined at present after damaging his knee on international duty, has expressed his belief that The Gunners can beat anyone on their day.
Van Persie's comments follow Arsenal's outstanding start to the season which sees them top the Premier League and on a run of 12 successive victories in all competitions.
The Gunners' midweek 7-0 demolition over Slavia Prague was an example of total football at its best, and the 24-year-old believes the squad's technical ability is outstanding.
"I know that we can beat everyone. The present team is by far the best I've ever played in. Everything is about pure football," he told Sport magazine.
"Most analysis bases quality on status but we have a good young team without status or years of experience. We're technically tremendously good."
Van Persie also spoke of the debt he owes Wenger, who brought the Dutchman to North London from Feyenoord for £2.75million in 2004.
"On the pitch things are going great and we're playing the way I like. So I'm enjoying every day but I'm also realistic," he added.
"One day the working relationship will come to an end, whether that is because I go or because Arsene Wenger leaves.
"But, for now, that isn't the case and as long as things are as good as they are now then I'm staying.
"I owe Wenger a big debt of thanks because he believed in me."
