Emmanuel Adebayor believes Arsenal fans are now seeing the best of him this season.

The Togo striker has helped fill the void left by Thierry Henry's departure to Barcelona with a number of impressive performances.

Adebayor has netted six goals in the Premier League this term as Arsenal have confounded the critics by going unbeaten so far this season.

The former Monaco striker believes Arsenal and himself have benefited from Henry's departure.

Improvement

"People are seeing the best of me this season because I play more and I have more opportunities," Adebayor told skysports.com.

"My team-mates trust me more and also our game is not based on a world class striker (Henry).

"Don't get me wrong, with the talent of Titi, it was a natural thing to go through him."

Adebayor feels Arsenal's recent performances against Liverpool and Manchester United prove they are serious title contenders this season.

Title contenders

"We are ready for the title fight, we are a very young team, however we think we can win it with style and resilience," added Adebayor.

"Against Liverpool, we dominated the whole game. We played our passing game at its best.

"We created a lot to win the game, however to get a draw at Anfield is a good result as United still has to go there.

"The Man Utd game was the hardest, because they are a tremendous team with pacy forwards.

"It was an even game, we shared the points and hopefully that point, will win us the league come May."

Adebayor also expressed his disappointment at Togo's failure to qualify for the African Cup of Nations in January, but vowed they will bounce back from the disappointment.

"We were beaten by a good Malian team with Kanoute, Diarra, Keita, they were very good on the day," noted Adebayor.

"Our nation were sad to lose that game, but we will be back very soon."
