Wenger: Looking to future

Arsenal insist they are not overlooking English talent and have a number of home-grown players coming through their ranks.

Arsene Wenger's men have come under the spotlight in recent weeks given the number of overseas players who grace their first XI, with the possible introduction of a quota system being mooted by Fifa president Sepp Blatter.

Theo Walcott and Justin Hoyte are the only English regulars in Wenger's squad, but academy coach Steve Bould is confident the future is bright.

Bould told the club's official website: "What's important is that we are getting a lot of good kids in and it is a big bonus that lots of them are English and I have to say that they are very, very good players.

"We certainly don't know how far they are going to get but we have a lot of good English players.

"That is great for the club and the fans want to see English lads in there, and they also want to see good players and we have plenty of those from home and abroad."
