Lehmann: Offers
You can boil it all down to one question: Is the other goalkeeper better than me? If not, why am I not playing? I've shown I can win matches and titles. Even if he is just as good as me, I should be playing.
Jens Lehmann
Quotes of the week
Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann claims he has received offers from other clubs interested in securing his services.
The Germany international's future at Emirates Stadium has been cast into doubt after he lost his place in the starting line-up, initially through injury and then with manager Arsene Wenger preferring to stick with Manuel Almunia.
Lehmann suggested last week he would be prepared to consider a move to Germany's second division in a bid for first-team football.
National team boss Joachim Low wants to see his No.1 playing regularly before next summer's Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland.
And Lehmann clearly believes he should be ahead of Spaniard Almunia in the Arsenal pecking order.
"I would like to be in the thoughts of my coach," Lehmann said.
"You can boil it all down to one question: Is the other goalkeeper better than me? If not, why am I not playing?
"I've shown I can win matches and titles. Even if he is just as good as me, I should be playing."
Lehmann has not ruled out staying with the Gunners, but insists there is already interest from teams keen to end his stint in North London.
He added: "There have been concrete offers. There have been some calls. But it's possible that I'll stay at Arsenal."
