William Gallas has praised Arsenal's involvement in the club's charity of the season, TreeHouse - the national charity for autism education.

On Sunday 16th December, the day of Arsenal's clash against Chelsea, for the first time ever, the club are set to unite to participate in 'Be a Gooner. Be a Giver.'

The charitable initiative will raise funds for TreeHouse, with Arsenal players, directors and staff donating a day's pay as they look to raise the £250,000 required to provide sports facilities for the national centre.

And Gunners captain Gallas has praised the club's involvement, insisting it demonstrates the team's unity on and off the pitch.

Important

"I'm the captain of Arsenal, we are a team on and off the pitch. We are getting involved with 'Be A Gooner. Be A Giver.' for the important reasons. I would like all of the fans of Arsenal to give if they can," he said.

"We are united on the pitch and we are united off it. We want to make a real difference. I hope that the fans can also make a small donation so it will be a real team effort.

"[During my time at TreeHouse] it was very difficult to see what was happening there because we forgot the children had autism.

"It was very difficult for me and Cesc (Fabregas) to be there and help them because they are still just kids, the future in that world. I think it's very important to do it.

Not forgotten

"But what I like as well is that Arsenal hasn't forgot them and that we are giving a good donation to them.

"I think it's very important to give something. We're not asking for you to give a lot of money, just if you give something, it can make a lot of difference.

"As a player I will be giving one day's wages and I hope the fans will do the same. This might not be a day's wages but just something will be good."
