Lehmann: Angry and frustrated

Jens Lehmann admits he gets 'angry' when he watches Manuel Almunia in the Arsenal goal.

The veteran German has lost his place to Almunia this season and has started just one game for the Gunners since August.

He has recently admitted that he is prepared to stay at Emirates Stadium, despite fears for his place in the Germany side for Euro 2008.

However, Lehmann concedes that he is still frustrated by the situation and has suggested manager Arsene Wenger treats his goalkeeping rival differently.

Very frustrating

"My coach confirmed my impression that he uses a different measuring stick to evaluate Almunia," Lehmann told Kicker magazine.

"For me this was a disappointment.

"It's very frustrating. When I see the performances on the field, I get angry and I have to clench my fist in my pocket."

Meanwhile, Germany's goalkeeping coach Andreas Kopke has stressed that Lehmann is not guaranteed to be his country's first choice at Euro 2008.

Premature

Kopke told Suddeutsche Zeitung: "It is too premature to say in December who will be the goalkeeper for the tournament.

"We want to continue to monitor the situation in terms of injuries and level of performance.

"All that Joachim Low said is if the European Championships started this weekend the three goalkeepers he would pick would be Lehmann, (Timo) Hildebrand and (Robert) Enke.

"We are surprised by the interpretation of his comments."
