Bendtner points out wound to Gallas
Emmanuel Adebayor is 'sorry' for his clash with team-mate Nicklas Bendtner during Arsenal's Carling Cup defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
During the closing stages of The Gunners' 5-1 loss, Adebayor appeared to butt Bendtner, and an altercation ensued.
The incident forced captain William Gallas to intervene in order to calm matters, while referee Howard Webb failed to see the entire row.
On Wednesday, The Football Association confirmed that it will look at footage, with the view to attaining whether the confrontation is worthy of charges which can be retrospectively issued against any individuals.
Adebayor has apologised for his and Bendtner's actions, explaining that the heat of the moment got the better of the duo.
"We are a strong unit and what happened last night against Spurs will strengthen our desire and determination to compete for other targets," he told the club's official website.
"Overall I think that we should have been more calm during the game and although I was pleased to get a goal back for the team when I came on, I am sorry for the disagreement with my team-mate Nicklas.
"We are both passionate about this club and sometimes that can be projected in the wrong way. It was a mistake. We want to focus on the games ahead and rely on our squad's great togetherness to achieve a fantastic season."

It is always disappointing to hear when such incidents happen between teammates, but i think one of the reason for that is relatively young age of the squad. there are no older players to keep the young ones calm, to show maturity and calmness in times of trouble. other teams that base themselves on having teams with a low avg age have some older players that will always be calm, i think arsenal lack that.

As an Arsenal fan, yes i was gutted with the result and the fuss at the end was needless. However it was simply a freak result. It happens every season to some club thats doing well. I have no doubt there will be no knock on effect on what will be a successful season for Arsenal

This just shows what happens when a team like arsenal have a lack of quality in defence, i was hugely dissapointed with the perfomance of skipper william gallas, he seemed off the pace and not in the mood to perform like he does in the league week in and out, i seriously think wenger need to have a look in the transfer market for a defender and quick because if we get one more injury in that area then we have nothing left appart from song who is not a defender, as for the row between adebayor and bentdner that will be resolved already and lets hope the team can put the result behind them as quickly as possible and keep focused on the other competitions and most importantly the league.
