Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has set his sights on making amends for his injury-time miss against Milan on Wednesday evening.

The first leg of The Gunners' UEFA Champions League fixture with the Italian giants ended 0-0, although Arsene Wenger's men enjoyed the better of the encounter.

They created a number of half-chances, while Adebayor was presented with a golden opportunity to net a pivotal winner in the dying moments.

Theo Walcott - on as a substitute - did well to carve out a cross from the right-flank, leaving the Togo international with the goal at his mercy.

Woodwork

Adebayor was left with his head in his hands, though, after seeing his header come crashing off the bar.

But the 23-year-old, who has scored an impressive 22 goals so far this term, insists he will not dwell on his miss.

"I cannot even explain what happened. That is football, and is what we are made of," he said.

"I had an amazing chance, but I put the ball onto the bar. That, though, is what it is like - sometimes everything is okay, and sometimes the ball just does not want to go into the net.

"But as a striker the most important thing is to be creating the chances.

"Hopefully I will put one in at the San Siro."

Famous

Milan have never been beaten by an English side at the San Siro, but Adebayor is sure that Arsenal have the quality to record a famous triumph next month.

"We know it is going to be very difficult in Milan, but we are ready for it," he continued.

"We just have to fight for the team, and maybe then one ball will go into the net.

"A score draw will do, but it is important to think about winning. The belief is very high.

"We know Cesc Fabregas and Alex Hleb can score at any time and hopefully Tomas Rosicky will be back by then. We hope to pass through Milan."
