Fabregas: Wants another final

Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he is dreaming of another UEFA Champions League final appearance this season, but is not intent on gaining revenge over Barcelona.

The Arsenal midfielder is desperate to make up for losing in Paris two years ago when Barcelona came from behind to win the trophy with goals from Sameul Eto'o and Juliano Belletti.

In order to reach Moscow, however, Fabregas recognises that only by performing on the pitch will his dream come true and the Gunners will have it all to do before then.

"Obviously, everybody dreams, but you have to work hard to make dreams become reality. If you stay in bed then you are never going to obtain your dream," he told EFE.

Dreaming

"I am dreaming of playing in another Champions League final. If it is against Barcelona it will be difficult because they have a great team.

"All I want is another chance of playing in a final, whoever that is against. If we won, then in five years' time nobody will care who the opposition was."

Liverpool in the quarter-finals is not Fabregas' idea of a dream European tie, but he admits that Arsenal will have face up to it if they want to go through.

"I would have preferred to play a European team," added the Spaniard. "To play in the Champions League against the same players that you play every week and see on the television, well, I would have preferred Barcelona, Madrid, an Italian team.

"But this is what we have been given and we have to deal with it."

Still a boy

With Barcelona and Arsenal also kept apart in the semi-finals, should they reach that stage, Fabregas says he does not have one eye on gaining revenge on his former club.

"Not at all. You learn from defeats and I learned a lot from that one because it did affect me and the team, but I do not like the word revenge," he stated.

"I am still a youngster here. When you look at the team I am still one of the youngest and am still a boy really. I do feel important and for any player that is vital."
