Arsenal have been drawn against Steve McClaren's FC Twente, while Liverpool will face Standard Liege in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

The former England boss took over at the Eredivisie club this summer in his first post since being axed by the Football Association in November last year.

Arsene Wenger will go head-to-head with the ex-Middlesbrough manager with a place in the lucrative group stages at stake.

The first leg will take place in Holland on either 12th or 13th of August, with the return leg at Emirates Stadium two weeks later.

Rafa Benitez will take his Liverpool team to Belgium for the first leg of their clash against Standard, before the return fixture at Anfield.

If Rangers can overcome Kaunas in their second leg qualifier, then they will be up against either Aalborg or Modrica.

Walter Smith's men could only draw 0-0 against the Lithuanian side at Ibrox and now face a nervous second leg on Tuesday night.
