Sagna: Wiser
Bacary Sagna is confident that Arsenal have learned from last season and can now win the Premier League title.
The Gunners mounted a strong challenge last term before eventually finishing four points behind champions Manchester United in third place.
Sagna's debut campaign came to an end after he suffered an ankle injury in the defeat to Chelsea on Easter Sunday, but the Frenchman is now fit again and raring to go.
He admits it was difficult to watch his team-mates struggle without him but he believes everyone at the club can put the disappointment behind them and clinch top spot.
"We will try to be wiser," he said. "We need to show people we are still the Gunners and can win the title.
"It was difficult for me personally to see my team-mates losing points, but it was not just me.
"Everything changes, players have to play in what is not their right positions and it is really difficult when you have to change things.
"Now we have to win the title. We play to win everything and we will try to do it."
Gilberto, Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb have all left the club this summer but Sagna has played down the significance of the departures.
He has paid tribute to new arrival Samir Nasri and backed his compatriot to fill the void left by Hleb's move to Barcelona.
"I think he can do it and will show everyone he can play very well," said Sagna.
"Samir Nasri is a very good player and we are lucky to have signed him. I have played alongside him in the French national team and I know he will find his place in the Arsenal team."
