Emmanuel Adebayor is hoping Arsenal's defeat by Fulham will act as a wake-up call for the team's title ambitions.

Arsenal followed up an opening day win over promoted West Brom with a 1-0 loss at Fulham on Saturday to put an early dent in their bid for the title.

Adebayor acknowledged the Gunners can not afford to be losing games at such an early stage of the Premier League season.

The Togo striker believes the setback at Craven Cottage will act as a reminder to any players who think the Gunners are 'untouchable'.

Best warning

"Of course, we cannot afford to lose another game," said Adebayor in The Sun.

"As players, as a club playing for the title, we don't want to lose a single game. But we have lost, the defeat is there. We cannot change that.

"We just have to keep on going, try to be focused a little better and achieve things.

"Now the title becomes a bit difficult, as we have lost the second game of the season.

"I think losing here is going to be the best warning we can be given. We can't think we are untouchable."
