Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri feels empowered by the trust manager Arsene Wenger has instilled in him since his summer switch to Emirates Stadium.

Wenger signed the France international from Marseille in July and he has made an impressive impact since the completion of his reported £12million transfer.

Nasri took his goals tally for the season to five as he netted a brace on Saturday in the Gunners' vital 2-1 victory over Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The 21-year-old has explained that he feels 'loved' at Arsenal and is eager to continue to express himself in the games to come.

No restraints

He told Le 10 Sports: "Arsene Wenger has been so affectionate with me. He often came to talk to me during pre-season to ask me if everything was fine and how I felt.

"I feel fine and so loved at this club. I feel trusted, and have no restraints to my game.

"The coach asks me to take a lot of risks. He tells me I have the ability to score lots of goals."

Arsenal have lost three league games so far this term and Nasri is aware that the team must improve on their consistency if they are to claim glory.

He added: "We have to continue working and show some kind of steadiness in our performances to allow Arsenal to compete for the title."
