Cesc Fabregas' father has insisted that his son is happy at Arsenal, but that he could fit in alongside Xavi and Andres Iniesta at Barcelona.

Speaking to Cero Catalunya radio station, Francesc Fabregas explained how the Arsenal star is flattered by the interest in him from various clubs, but is enjoying himself in London.

Barcelona have been continuously linked with their former youth team starlet and Fabregas senior explained that although the family are all Blaugrana supporters, they are now Arsenal fans too.

"We are all Barca fans in the family, but everyone must understand that we are with Arsenal. At this moment, he is happy and enjoying himself there. The club values him highly," he said.

With Xavi and Iniesta already in the Barcelona midfield, Fabregas senior was asked if his son could play alongside them and what he felt about the rumours.

"Cesc can adapt to wherever he plays. He loves to play football and I am sure that he could fit in at any club," he continued.

"Any person in a job likes it if another company tells them they are fans and that they would like them to join their company.

"Of course, he likes to hear that Barca or Milan or Madrid like him, anyone would."

Fabregas senior also revealed that four years ago they turned down a huge offer from Florentino Perez to join Real Madrid.

But he insists that the offer was not rejected because his son would not play for Los Merengues - rather the timing was not right.

"The only thing that I can say about Florentino Perez is that four years ago he came to us and we said no. There was a lot of money on the table and we said no," he added.

"We felt that it was not the best moment for Cesc to move. He has to think of himself and it is not all about money."

He added that he expects his son to return to playing in the next few weeks and believes that he could appear in the first leg of Arsenal's UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Villarreal on 7th April.

"Cesc is feeling strong and is raring to go. He has recovered from his injury and since he returned to England he has had to be held back," he stated.

"He will play again when the club believe that he is ready.

"I think that he will be able to play again against Villarreal in the Champions League.

"He will be back with the team the weekend before that against Manchester City though, but I do not know if he will play."
