Stuttgart's Germany international defender Serdar Tasci is happy biding his time before moving to a bigger club.

The 22-year-old stopper has previously been linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus.

The Gunners are keen to bolster their back line, although Ajax's Thomas Vermaelen is now reportedly top of their wanted list.

Although he is in no rush to leave the Mercedes-Benz Arena, this has not stopped Tasci admitting his admiration for the trio.

Ambitious

"I have the ambition to move clubs one day, but the time and circumstances have to be right for me," he told spox.com.

"I have to admit I'm flattered that clubs like Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus have had their eye on me in the past.

"But I'm not getting carried away with this. I'm focussed on Stuttgart and looking to return to action following my knee injury."

With Stuttgart losing star striker Mario Gomez to Bayern Munich, Tasci believes their hopes of winning next season's Bundesliga titles have been severely diminished.

Title hopes

"Now Gomez has left I don't see us battling for the title," he continued.

"I trust Horst Heldt (Stuttgart's general manager) and company fully. They will make sure we possess a strong team next season.

"I know they are after good signings and will spend money.

"I'd love to play in the Champions League this season. We'll have to show up in qualifying of course, but I don't mind who we play.

"We want to advance to the group stages. We might be paired with Arsenal, but we can beat them as well."
