Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has suffered a minor injury setback after returning from 18 months on the sidelines.

After playing half the recent pre-season game against Barnet, Rosicky was substituted as a precaution by boss Arsene Wenger.

The club have confirmed that he sustained a "minor problem" in the friendly on 18th July, with the 28-year-old subsequently left out of the Gunners' last three pre-season matches.

It is not yet known if he will take a part in the Emirates Cup pre-season tournament this weekend, which is live on Sky Sports 2 and HD2.

Rosicky himself, though, insists he is raring to go and hopes to be playing regular football in the near future.

Feeling

"I have a feeling that I am finally getting back to my usual standard of football," he said.

"During the injury struggle I began preparing many times but it took a long time to get this far.

"I am fit, which is the most important thing now."

Rosicky backed Wenger's judgement in leaving him out of pre-season training despite his desire to play.

"I thought that I would spend more time on the pitch (against Barnet) and then the two matches that followed I had to watch from the stands," he said.

"I wasn't angry with the decision - just glad I could walk again."
