Campbell: With former boss Wenger
Former Arsenal captain Sol Campbell has discussed the possibility of training at the club with manager Arsene Wenger.
Campbell walked out on Notts County in September after playing just one game for the Magpies, despite signing a lucrative five-year-deal.
The former England international admits he is still under contract at Meadow Lane, which rules out any potential swoop from Wenger.
However, Campbell's ties at Emirates Stadium remain good and he is hoping his former employees can help him stay fit while he waits for his next move.
"It will be great to train here and get fit," Campbell said to the Associated Press.
"I've spoken to Arsene, hopefully we can get everything right and speak to the right people and get a couple of the physios and fitness guys to help me and train.
"My overall fitness is OK. But something else might happen before then."
Campbell's departure from Meadow Lane shocked the Football League in the same manner as his signing had done just one month earlier.
He remains contracted to the club but reiterated that the club have reluctantly accepted his decision to leave and he has now set his sights on finding a new club.
"First of all, I've got to get out of the contract, people have to sign papers," he said.
"There are lots of things that have to be tied up, but I think everyone understands why."
Under current rules Campbell is unable to sign for another club until the turn of the year, with County being his second club in 2009 after leaving Portsmouth in the summer.
The 35-year-old is expected to attract interest in the January transfer window but he remains coy over potential loopholes which could see him playing before then.
"I just want to play football in the right way, but everything has to be done in the proper way," he added.
"There are ways of playing before January, I'm not going to elaborate, but there are ways. Not very soon, but there are ways."

Campbell should have honoured his contract at least until january. What wa he exppecting life in League 2 to be like??? League 2 is NOT the premiership and Sol should have known that. I hope he doesnt find another club for a while. That would teach him!!
