Welsh wizard Aaron Ramsey is enjoying his steep learning curve at Arsenal - and is looking forward to more great days to come.

Some questioned whether Ramsey made the right choice when he switched to the Emirates as a raw talent from Cardiff in a £5million deal during June 2008.

But the 18-year-old has already gone on to make 18 appearances - albeit 12 as a substitute - and put in a composed display as the main playmaker as Arsenal lost 1-0 to Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The young Welshman does not regret his switch to the Emirates and hopes this could be his breakthrough campaign.

He said: "I am trying my hardest in games like this, to show what I can do.

"I also work hard in training as well, so I am just concentrating on what I have to do and then it is up to the manager.

"I am learning every day, so it was the right move for me to join Arsenal - and opportunities like this are good for me and for the young players."

Ramsey added: "I am not sure whether it was my best performance, I just think it was a good all-round team performance.

"As midfielders that is what we are there to do, to make chances and passes for strikers and wide players.

"It is a good feeling when you do that.

"If they don't take the chance then the urge is to make another chance for them as quickly as possible."

Cruise happy

Another 18-year-old - rookie left back Tom Cruise - made his debut against Olympiakos and loved the experience.

He told Arsenal TV Online: "The manager told me just to enjoy it, and I thought I did quite well.

"It is not bad making your debut in the Champions League."

Poland keeper Lukasz Fabianski also played and he is hoping to push on and challenge Manuel Almunia for the No.1 spot.

The 24-year-old said: "I want to put Manuel under as much pressure as possible.

"What else can you do? You have to work hard every time you have an opportunity to show what you can do.

"We will see what happens. I hope he will be happy with that competition."
