Coyle keen on Wilshere

Owen Coyle has confirmed his interest in Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere but admits there is a long way to go before a loan deal can be agreed.

The midfielder is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in English football but has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular starter at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger recently revealed he would be open to the idea of Wilshere going out on loan when the transfer window reopens, but only if he was guaranteed a lot of playing time.

The Gunners manager admires the style of football played by Burnley and Coyle admits he would be keen to bring the teenager to Turf Moor, although he expects competition for his signature.

"I am loath to speak about other teams' players but I think it is fair to say that Arsene Wenger knows the regard I have for the player," Coyle said on Sky Sports News when asked about Wilshere.

Gifted

"Arsenal have been blighted by injuries so there are things they may have to look at.

"I would also suggest there is more than Burnley that will be admirers of Jack Wilshere.

"He is a gifted individual who will continue to get better and I believe he will become an Arsenal regular and a full England international."

Coyle spoke to Wenger after the 1-1 draw between the two sides last week, adding: "We had a chat and we will take it from there."
