Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he could hand a start to Jack Wilshere against Partizan Belgrade.

The Gunners travel to Serbia for their UEFA Champions League group game on Tuesday night, looking to bounce back from the defeat to West Brom in the Premier League at the weekend.

A 3-2 loss at home to the Baggies puts extra pressure on Arsenal ahead of their next domestic clash against Chelsea, but they will be looking to restore confidence with a midweek European victory.

Midfielder Wilshere, 18, was handed a rest by Wenger on Saturday and was brought on during the second half at the Emirates.

But having been in impressive form so far this season, the youngster could start in Belgrade as Arsenal attempt to put the Baggies defeat out of their mind.

"I would not be afraid to play him," said Wenger.

"It is a possibility he will play. I rested him on Saturday.

"It was just a question of having a breather. He is 18 and has played every single game recently."

Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is out with an elbow injury so Lukasz Fabianski is set to deputise, while captain Cesc Fabregas is also absent.
