INTERNAZIONALE are reported to be monitoring Stilian Petrov's situation at Celtic.
The Bulgarian international's future at Parkhead is in doubt after he pulled out of contract talks earlier this month.
Celtic had hoped to tie down the former CSKA Sofia ace to a new long-term deal, but talks are believed to have broken down because Petrov was not happy with the terms on offer.
Petrov still has two-and-a-half-years to run on his current deal at the SPL leaders and Bhoys boss Martin O'Neill is hopeful of resurrecting talks with Petrov and his agent over a new contract.
The 23-year-old has established himself as a key player for Celtic after initially struggling in his first season after moving to Scotland in the summer of 1999.
The goalscoring midfielder has helped Celtic to win the SPL title for the last two seasons and is rated as one of the best young players in Europe.
Petrov has also established himself as a key figure on the international stage and is already captain of the Bulgaria side.
Inter have been watching his progress at Celtic and are believed to be sending representatives to watch him action for his country in Wednesday's friendly with Spain.
The Italian giants are keen to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer window re-opening in January as they look to maintain their bids for success at home and abroad.
They could face competition for Petrov with both Everton and Tottenham linked with the player in the past.
