Moyes: Wright won't let us down

David Moyes has no problem thrusting Richard Wright into the fray against Manchester United this weekend.

Everton will be without first-choice Tim Howard for The Red Devils' visit to Goodison Park as the American goalkeeper is ineligible.

Howard's absence will give Wright a rare chance to shine this season, having been relegated to bench-warming for the majority of the campaign.

Moyes is confident in the former Arsenal keeper's ability and has backed him to deputise admirably on Saturday lunchtime.

"Richard has got a terrific attitude," Moyes told the club's official website.

"It is disappointing that we have not got Tim Howard but I will not have any qualms about putting Richard back in.

"You can never fault his work in training and he is a great lad to have around the place. He won't let anyone down."

Everton could have Manuel Fernandes back in the starting line-up against United after he came off the bench against West Ham last weekend.

And Moyes has welcomed the Portuguese international's return in midfield.

He said: "We lacked a bit of quality in the final third but we improved when Manuel came on and it is good to have him back amongst it."
