Van der Meyde: Time to leave?
Red Bull Salzburg are reportedly keen on taking Andy van der Meyde to Austria.
The former Dutch international has endured a torrid three-year spell with Premier League side Everton, with injuries and disciplinary problems blighting his time at Goodison Park
He failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Toffees last season and is growing increasingly disillusioned with life on Merseyside.
Salzburg have ambitions of making an impact in Europe next season and could provide the ideal outlet for an out-of-sorts Dutchman.
The club already have two of his countrymen on their books in the form of Robin Nelisse and Barry Opdam and coach Co Adriaanse is keen to add a third.
The Austrians are keen to build any future success around homegrown talent, but realise that talented foreigners are needed to complement the locals.
Salzburg are believed to have already contacted Everton in regards to a potential summer deal and the two clubs are expected to open negotiations in the coming weeks.
