McCall: Densmore chance

Former Everton youngster Shaun Densmore has been given a trial with Bradford City.

The 19-year-old was released by the Toffees in May in a David Moyes squad shake-up, and Densmore will remain on trial with the League Two club for pre-season.

The right-back earned a senior deal for one year at Goodison Park after being named 2006/07 academy Player of the Year.

But despite being a regular in the Toffees reserves, Densmore could not break into the first-team and was one of a dozen players released by Moyes.

Promising

With former Everton fans' favourite Stuart McCall on the look out for an understudy to first-choice Paul Arnison, the Scot was eager to have a look at the promising youngster.

"We saw he was available and asked his agent if Shaun wanted to join us for pre-season so we could have a look at him," the Bantams boss told the Bradford Telegraph.

"Obviously we're only training at the moment, but we'll have him here for a couple of weeks and see what we think."

City will have pre-season friendly trips across the border against Dundee and Motherwell before opening their league campaign at Valley Parade against Notts County on 9th August.
