Everton forward James Vaughan believes the club are set to embark on a 'new era' after manager David Moyes signed a new contract at Goodison Park.

On Tuesday, Moyes finally ended speculation surrounding his future in charge of the Merseyside outfit as he penned a new five-year deal.

Vaughan, 20, is full of admiration for Moyes after he handed him his first-team debut at 16 years of age and is predicting success in the years to come under the Scot.

"It's massive news for the club," Vaughan told the Liverpool Echo.

"He has brought us a long way in the space of time that he has been here and we hope that remains to be the case. The gaffer brought me through and gave me my chance.

"Now it's up to me and the rest of the boys to repay him with results. When we click together, I don't think there will be any stopping us.

"We have just got to get together and keep fighting. This is a new era for us and we have got to kick on from here."
