Everton boss David Moyes has said he will not sell Mikel Arteta despite rumours of a big money bid by Arsenal.

The Gunners have been linked with a £12million move for the in-form midfielder as they bid to replace the injured Cesc Fabregas.

Such a sum would certainly come in handy for Moyes who is desperate to strengthen his weakened attack with three noticeable long-term absentees.

The Toffees boss, though, insists he will not "sell to buy" in the January transfer window despite admitting he has no cash to bolster his depleted squad.

Happy

"I definitely wouldn't consider selling to buy," Moyes told The Sun.

"I have no intention of doing that. There's nobody I want to sell.

"I'm happy with what I have got, though we'll try to get a loan player or two."
