USA international striker Landon Donovan has admitted he would love a return to the Premier League with Everton.

The talented 28-year-old spent 10 weeks on loan at Goodison Park last term and enjoyed every minute with the Merseyside outfit.

Donovan had previous spells in Europe with Bundesliga outfits Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, but it was with Everton that he showed his true form.

Whether the Toffees could agree a deal with MLS remains an issue as Donovan is on a long-term contract and MLS commissioner Don Garber is not looking to negotiate.

However, Donovan is not ruling out moving clubs and believes that with plenty of time before the European transfer window closes that anything is possible.

Return

"I would love to go back to Everton. I love the people there and I love the fans there," explained Donovan.

"But that said, I love being in America too, so we are going to take everything into account and see where it ends up.

"Anything is possible at this stage and I'm going to make the decision that's best for me. We hear little bits and pieces here and there and there have certainly been clubs that are interested, but right now, it's only preliminary.

"There's still a lot of time left in the transfer window, so we'll see what moves are made and, if it's serious, then we'll treat it seriously."
