Annan: Premier League dream

Ghanaian starlet Anthony Annan expects to be playing in the Premier League when the new season gets underway, according to his agent.

The 21-year-old, heralded as the 'new Michael Essien' in his homeland, has been linked with a number of English sides including Everton, Middlesbrough and Bolton.

Manchester City are the latest club rumoured to be interested in the midfielder, with new manager Mark Hughes known to be a firm admirer.

Annan currently plays for IK Start in Norway but agent Craig Honeyman insists he is now looking to move on for a fresh challenge.

Honeyman claims that Annan's dream is to play in the Premier League and he is convinced it will become a reality in the very near future.

"My player is ready to move, he is ready for a big league," Honeyman told skysports.com.

"We all saw how outstanding he was in the Ghana team at the African Cup of Nations.

"There is a lot of interest in England and that is where he wants to move next in his career.

"I can assure you there is a lot of interest in the Premier League. We are very confident he will play in the Premiership next season."
