Davis: Bolton new boy
Bolton have confirmed the signing of Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis on a free transfer.
As revealed by skysports.com last month Bolton had lined up a move to take Davis to the Reebok Stadium once his contract at Portsmouth expired.
The former Fulham and Tottenham man has inked a three-year deal with Bolton after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
Bolton boss Gary Megson has held a long-term interest in Davis after trying to sign him during the January transfer window without success and he is delighted to finally land his man.
"We are delighted to have signed such an experienced Premier League footballer," Megson told the club's official website.
"Sean made 40 appearances last season for Portsmouth and he will strengthen our midfield.
"We wanted to bring him to the Reebok in January but our bid of £3.5million was turned down by Portsmouth, who didn't want him to leave."
Davis was happy to make the move to The Reebok Stadium.
"I am happy my future has been sorted out," said Davis. "I wanted to move to a club where I can play my football and be appreciated.
"Bolton showed genuine interest in January and that was hugely encouraging.
"It is an exciting opportunity not just for me but my family as well. I want to enjoy my football and take the club forward."
