Marek Matejovsky's ankle ligament injury looks set to sideline the Reading midfielder for longer than first predicted.

The Czech Republic international sustained the injury during Sunday's 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest after going down in a challenge in the first half.

Royals boss Steve Coppell had said he expected the problem to rule Matejovsky out for a 'few weeks', however the Czech Republic national side have claimed he will return in around two months.

"Marek will be out for six to eight weeks," Czech Republic team spokesman Lukas Tucek told www.fotbal.cz.

Matejovsky is now certain to miss the friendly international against England at Wembley next Wednesday.
