Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder remains keen to bring Reading striker Leroy Lita back to Carrow Road.

Lita has recently completed a three-month loan spell at Norwich and scored seven goals in 16 Championship appearances.

He is out of contract at Reading at the end of the season and Roeder understands the former England Under 21 international could keep his options open.

However, Roeder is also hopeful that, if he does not leave the Royals permanently in January, he could return to the Canaries.

Wants to play

"Let's say somebody like Wolves wanted to sign Leroy - and they do - Reading are going to think long and hard about letting him go to a club that theoretically could knock them out of an automatic spot and in to a play-off spot," Roeder told the club's official website.

"Having spoken to Leroy he is also keeping his options open, he might prefer to wait until the summer when his contract expires and see what offers come in then and let's face it there would be lots.

"I still think it's quite possible he might go out on loan for the remainder of this season, Leroy wants to play, he does not want to be third or fourth choice striker anywhere."

Meanwhile, Roeder confirmed he is trying to finalise a deal to bring an experienced centre-half to the club.

He added: "We are working on signing a substantial, experienced centre-back. He's a Premiership centre-back, but I am not saying which Premiership in the world that may be."
