Emana extends Toulouse deal

Achille Emana has told Skysports.com that he has signed a new deal with Toulouse.

Cameroon international Achille Emana has signed a new deal with Toulouse.

The powerful defensive midfielder looked set to join Harry Redknapp's army of new recruits at Portsmouth this summer before work permit problems scuppered the possibility of a deal.

He has started the new season well helping the Stadium Municipal side to seven points out of a possible 12 in Ligue 1 so far.

And he has now rewarded the club's faith in him by committing himself to the French side for another two seasons, which takes his contract up until 2010.

"This contract extension is a guarantee for the future, for me and for the club," Emana told Skysports.com exclusively.

"I am part of the history of the club, its past, its present and maybe its future.

"I have given my all to TFC for six years now. We started a voyage together, an adventure.

"I don't know if the club will become more ambitious, we will see, that is another thing."

The versatile anchor man, who was also linked with a move to Marseille over the summer, has refused to rule out the chance of making a move to The Premiership.

"I am waiting for my French papers," he added.

"After that, if any English club wants to sign me, they know how to contact me."

He will be anxious to prove his worth in Toulouse's next match at home against Nancy on September 10.
