Harry Redknapp concedes Portsmouth's display in the 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough was a 'real disappointment'.
Tuncay Sanli's 20th minute effort settled the game at Fratton Park to leave Pompey without a home goal in the Premier League in three months.
Following on from a 0-0 draw at home to Arsenal on Boxing Day, Redknapp was left deflated by his team's performance against Boro.
He admits Pompey did not deserve to win the game and was struggling to find positives to take out of the match.
"Today's result is a disappointment," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "We had a good result with Arsenal in midweek and it was a good point.
"At home to Middlesbrough, it was a game I believed we could win, but we didn't play well today and we didn't deserve to win the game.
"We didn't pass the ball well at all. I felt we just started to lump it up to the two central defenders - Huth and Woodgate - who are both excellent headers of the ball.
"We never moved them really, we never moved off the ball enough today to make the angles to pass it and I felt we really just run out of ideas very early in the game today.
"It was very disappointing. We're not normally like that. It's the first real disappointment I've seen for a long, long time from the lads, especially here.
"Today, we never got going."
