Kranjcar: Going nowhere
Niko Kranjcar insists that he will continue to ignore the speculation surrounding his future.
The Portsmouth playmaker has been linked with several of Europe's top clubs this summer, but maintains that he is happy at Fratton Park.
The 23-year-old did admit that he would welcome the opportunity to test himself at a bigger club at some point in the future, but not just yet.
The Croatian star is thought to be high on Monaco's summer wish list, but vows that he will remain loyal to the club who brought him to England two years ago.
"My perspective is I'm a Portsmouth football player until the club want to sell me," Kranjcar told The News.
"I'm not thinking about the transfer talk which is going on. My only view is that I'm happy here.
"Obviously, every player has ambitions to play for the biggest clubs in the world. But I'm patient and will remain at Portsmouth to such time as they say they don't need me.
"There is no reason not to be honest about the situation. Of course I dream of playing for the top four clubs in England or the top three clubs in Spain or Italy.
"Of course I dream of playing in the Champions League and winning the Champions League with the kind of sides who can achieve that.
"But there is no need to rush because I believe I'm in a team that I can improve in."
Kranjcar insists that Pompey's ambition matches his own, and for that reason he is looking forward to the prospect of helping the club make an impact at home and abroad next season.
"I believe I'm playing for a team where I can set some higher goals and achieve them," he added.
"That's the important thing to me.
"We have big ambitions here and are about to play in Europe for the first time in the club's history this season.
"I am very happy with how things are at the moment."
