Storrie: Excited

Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie believes the club's fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of going head-to-head with AC Milan.

The South Coast outfit were placed alongside the seven-time European Cup winners in Uefa Cup Group E on Tuesday, along with the likes of Heerenveen, Braga and Wolfsburg.

Storrie believes that while no-one at the club can take qualifying from Group E for granted, they do have a decent chance of progressing further in Europe this season.

"I'm delighted for the fans really," he told Sky Sports News. "It's a good group all the way around.

Relishing

"I think if you went through any of the teams in the 40 then AC Milan would be on the lips of all Portsmouth's fans I'm sure.

"It's a good balanced group as well. I think it's a tough group, but a group we've got a chance in, but to have AC Milan playing Portsmouth is absolutely incredible."

Portsmouth secured their place in the group stage of the competition following an extra-time win over Guimaraes last week and Storrie does not believe they will have any trouble returning to the region to tackle Braga.

"Of course we know Braga because we've just come back from down the road from them," he continued.

"It's an area we've been to and we know the people there."
