Noe Pamarot has expressed his happiness with life at Portsmouth and set his sights on a long stay at Fratton Park.

The defender was a peripheral figure under Harry Redknapp but he has established himself as a key member of Tony Adams' side.

He has appeared in 12 of the 13 games Pompey have played since Adams took charge and admits he is delighted to be involved so heavily.

"I have played a lot of games and I am just happy to be in the team - that's motivation for me," the Frenchman told The News.

"In a way I suppose it's mixed feelings, I'm playing but we are not winning games. I'm happy to play, but we are not getting the results for the team and that's not great.

"But being in the team is fantastic, I'm enjoying it so much."

Relaxed

Pamarot, who joined Portsmouth from Tottenham in January 2006, will be out of contract next summer

He is keen to secure a new deal but is more concerned about staying in the team and helping Pompey to bounce back from a couple of poor recent results.

He said: "At the beginning of the season I was thinking about my contract situation, but now I'm playing more and it means I'm more relaxed. I think good will come. I will have to see.

"I would like to stay, of course. Nothing has been said and I'm waiting to hear, but that is not a problem for me.

"When you play you don't worry about these kind of things. I just want to be in the side and I'm lucky enough to be there at the moment.

"I am part of things so it's easier for me to feel part of this club. I will now just have to wait to see what happens."
