Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul insists he is settled at White Hart Lane and is happy to fight for his place.

Following the arrival of Jonathan Woodgate from Middlesbrough in a £7million deal, Kaboul is confident he still has a future at Tottenham.

Woodgate will make his debut at Everton on Wednesday evening, while Kaboul may not even earn a place on the bench.

But the 22-year-old, who joined from Auxerre in a deal worth £8.2million last summer, will continue to give his all to the club and also dismissed reports that he has fallen out with coach Juande Ramos after he took charge in October.

Satisfied

"I do not understand these rumours. Let's be clear, I feel great at Tottenham and I still want to give my best for this team," Kaboul told the Evening Standard.

"If you look at my stats, I have played approximately 30 games. That is not bad for a 22-year-old foreign player who is at such a club.

"It is up to me to continue to work. Every time a new coach arrives, you have to work to make yourself look indispensable. I have to do all I can to impose myself.

"Generally for a player who discovers a new league, the first year is considered an adaptation season. I am lucky that has not been the case.

"It is a bit early, but I am quite satisfied with the first part of the season. I know how far I can go. I can still improve a lot."
