King: Blow for Spurs
Ledley King will not feature in Tottenham's final six games of the season as he continues his rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury.
The 27-year-old has endured another campaign plagued by injury, which has restricted him to just 10 appearances.
King lifted the Carling Cup courtesy of victory over Chelsea at Wembley earlier this year, but will not now feature again until next season.
While King insists he is currently experiencing no difficulties with his knee, he accepts it will benefit his rehabilitation to take another break in order to concentrate on being 100 right for text term.
"My knee is actually feeling good at the moment and there is no inflammation, but we have to look at the bigger picture and accept that this is an ideal point in time to recover further, get best advice and make sure that I come back fitter," King said in a statement on the club's official website.
"They are six games I could well have taken part in, but we all believe this is worth doing for the longer term benefit."
