Chimbonda: Keen to play regularly
Pascal Chimbonda looks set to leave Tottenham this summer in search of regular first-team football.
The Frenchman's agent has confirmed Spurs are willing to let the talented full-back leave White Hart Lane and that he is talking to several clubs about a deal for Chimbonda.
Chimbonda's future at Tottenham has been the subject of speculation since the January signings of Alan Hutton and Chris Gunter.
Hutton has jumped ahead of Chimbonda in the pecking order in Juande Ramos' plans and the former Wigan ace is now ready to move on.
Chimbonda's agent Willie McKay has confirmed Tottenham have given him permission to talk to interested clubs.
"I expect Pascal to leave Tottenham this summer," McKay told skysports.com. "I am speaking to several clubs with the consent of Tottenham and Pascal hopes to get his future sorted soon.
"I believe Tottenham will be looking in the region of £2million from interested clubs."
Chimbonda has come in for criticism from sections of the fans and media for his attitude following his angry reaction to being substituted during Spurs' 2-1 extra-time win over Chelsea in the Carling Cup final last season.
However, McKay insists the player's commitment cannot be questioned, having played in several positions for Spurs last season and always given his best for the team.
"Pascal has done nothing wrong at Tottenham, he has been a good signing," added McKay.
"His reaction during the Carling Cup final was a result of the player being upset at being subbed for the first time in his career at Tottenham.
"Unless you have scored a hat-trick and are coming off to a standing ovation, you don't want to be substituted in a cup final.
"Pascal always gave his best for the team whether he was asked to play at right-back, centre-back or left-back.
"Also contrary to some suggestions Pascal is one of the fittest players at Tottenham as he looks after himself.
"Pascal has shown he can do a good job in the Premier League and he is hoping to move to a top club and play in his preferred position of right-back."
