Fiorentina are claiming Spurs have agreed a £4million fee for midfielder Mario Santana.

Santana has fallen out of favour with Fiorentina and the Italians claim Spurs have moved for the the 26-year-old.

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino says Spurs have agreed to pay 5million euros (£4m) for the Argentine although Tottenham say no deal has been reached.

"It is a figure that satisfies us because Santana does not feature in our plans for the 2008/09 season," Corvino said in The Sun.

"I expect Santana to join Spurs within the next few days as he has been offered a three or four-year contract in London."
