Ling: Completing transfer jigsaw

Tottenham youngster Simon Dawkins has joined Leyton Orient on a six-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance for Spurs, but has impressed Os manager Martin Ling on a number of occasions for the Premier League side's second string.

Ling has every intention of throwing the youngster into competitive action next season and is confident that he will not be left to rue that decision.

"Simon comes in on a window-to-window loan and I'm delighted to have him here," he told the club's official website.

High esteem

"He's a young player that I've seen a lot of for Tottenham's reserves and the ongoing relationship we have with them has allowed us to take Simon on loan.

"Simon is held in high esteem at Tottenham and he will prove to be a good replacement for Efe Echanomi.

"This signing takes us up to 21 players and the jigsaw is almost complete, all we're left with now is the wide left player."
