Darren Bent struck to earn Tottenham a 1-1 pre-season friendly draw with Hercules in Spain.

Segunda Division side Hercules had taken the lead in the fifth minute as Addison scored.

Liverpool target Robbie Keane did not even earn a place on the Tottenham bench, but Dimitar Berbatov played the full 90 minutes.

However, Bent - who has yet to secure a regular place in Spurs' first-team following a big money move from Charlton last summer - equalised 10 minutes before half-time.

Spurs found themselves behind early on as Addison was fortunate as he missed a header from a Javi Gonzalez corner only to see the ball loop in off his shoulder.

Juande Ramos' side then had the better of the encounter as Giovani dos Santos was unfortunate to see an effort cleared off the line.

But Spurs had their deserved equaliser on 35 minutes as Bent rose at a Aaron Lennon corner to nod in.

After the interval, Dos Santos continued to impress, but there was not to be a winner as honours ended even.
